Figure Skating

Here's your Stacy version of figure skating update.
Michelle Kwan is out. I guess we'll be seeing her at the ripe old age of 30 in the next olympics.
Pairs: There were three Chinese teams that were all right up there, and one Russian team. The Russians rocked the house but there was still a Chinese team or two to go. So one of the Chinese teams starts and the first throw, it apprears that the guy just chucked the girl into the ice on her kneecaps, ouch. She wasn't looking so good after that and they stopped and he helped her to the side. They never leave the ice but the coach or whoever looks her over and she gets over it a bit and they decide after all the hulabaloo, to go on. So they restart the music and just kind of skate around until it gets to the part where they screwed up and they go on like nothing happened... and those fuckers got the silver metal! How would you like to get beat by that? The worst is the crappy comentators. They never tell you the right thing. I remember watching Hamm go for the men's all round gymnastics, he fell on something and the comentators said there was no way he could get a metal now, and he got the gold. They are supposed to let you know what is going on, IE have some sort of clue how much of a deduction you would get for chucking your partner into the ice and stopping the whole program, and if you could then get a metal. The commentators are useless. I heard one of them say fanny the other day, they should have fired him on the spot.
Anyway, the men's final is tonight. You only need to watch one guy, Evgeni Plushenko of Russia. He got the silver last time, not for lack of being awesome. The other dude that beat him was awesome too, also from Russia, but he had a bum knee and retired. Plushenko is amazing, you should really try to catch him tonight. His programs are so crazy and awesome, he could scoot across the ice on his butt as a grande finale and still win. Johnny Wier, I'm sorry you are American and everything, but Evgeni will have to fall on every jump and trip skating backwards for you to win, and I've been a fan of his for a while, so I'm going to go ahead and root for Evgeni, but silver is all yours man.
