Christmas comes early around here

Todd gave me my Christmas present early yesterday. I knew he was up to something when he mentioned it yesterday, and then called twice yesterday, and then kept talking about ordering dinner. Then his parents showed up unexpectedly at 6:30, which doesn't happen because they live two hours away. Todd bought me a big screen TV, off of eBay, from UMR, and his parents delivered it. None of them had any idea how big it was until they saw it in person. The thing is beyond huge. They used some kind of crane to get it on the back of his parent's truck. They had to go fetch a variety of tools and ramps and whatnot to get it off the back of the truck. Meanwhile, the clouds were getting thicker and darker. It started raining as they were bringing it in the house. Once in the house, it was measured because Todd intended this to go in our bedroom. It is a good inch or two too big to fit through the door. I wanted to leave it in the living room, but this was not in his master plan. He is not just taking the door off the hinges, because that is not enough. No friends, he is going to disassemble the door frame. As we were checking it out last night before bed, he asked me how old I thought it was.
I said, "1988"
"No, 1989, but you were close."
It kind of doesn't have the color red and it has some lines through the screen, but he has a service manual on the way. His project list just got a new member. Merry Christmas.
