Cutting fee

Some of us girlies went out for somebody's birthday last night. I made a cake. I didn't know if or when we would eat it, but I knew the birthday girl would be taking it home. So at one point the waitress says, "I notice you brought a cake, since we are a dessert place, we will have to charge you a cutting fee." No wait, what's that sound? That's your tip being flushed down the toilet. I was a waitress for like 45 seconds one time, I didn't care what the rules were about anything, I wasn't ever going to say something so rude. How about, "You guys want some ice cream to go with that cake?" But that isn't what she said. I don't know what kind of tip was left, I threw in 20 bucks and let everyone else figure it out. But to the cutting fee, I say, "flush."
