updates

I haven't blogged in a while. Every spare moment on the computer has been spent designing and printing. 100 of somebody else's Christmas cards, 100 custom note cards, 2 different birth announcements, then finally 80 of my own Christmas cards. My printer wants a vacation, so do I. I thought of something funny the other day, then I forgot it. So blogging has been non existant.
In other news, my cocaine dealing neighbor's house is up for sale. I have to admit, I'm impressed they went with cocaine, that has to be imported. The local drug of choice is meth. In any event, they are totally still selling as far as I can tell. Does anyone have a problem with this? Seriously, lock these people up. I'm highly annoyed the two times their buyers have knocked on my door by accident. I know the houses look similar and with the hispanic last name, perhaps we are asking for it. My employees listen to the radio all day long and they asy all they hear about is drug busts and other crap going on in my neighborhood. Last week it was the stealing of Christmas decorations. I seriously live in a nice house in what appears to be a very nice nieghborhood with what appears to be a state trooper that lives at the front of the subdivision. You'd think he'd be trying to do something about all this.
Today I sent Todd off to his brother's going away party. He's aquired a good job in Nebraska and he's ready to head off and start his new life and everyone is ready to send him off to greater things. Todd took his super best friend to Columbia for the party and we may never see the two of them again. His friend, Don, stays home with the kids. Don's friend, Scott is also a stay at home dad. Todd hangs out with them on Saturdays when I am at work so Don't daughter thinks that all moms go to work and all dads stay home with the kids. Very progressive of her. That seems to be an ever-increasing trend. I don't exactly know why, but I do know that Todd is really excited at the thought of not going to work. He grew up with a dad at home and a mom at work, so there you go.
My store is kickin' ass. I wish we could stay at an eternal state of "almost Christmas". Then I could always enjoy my tree, Christmas cookies and lots of shoppers. I had my first shoplifter the other day. At least the first one we caught. I wasn't there so I shouldn't say "we". Virginia was helping a lady try on rings. She turned to grab something and when she turned back one of the rings was in the wind. She asked where it went and the lady played dumb. Yeah, like it imploded. Virginia said she practically accused her but she didn't know what else she could do since she denied, denied, denied. I told her to write up a description of her so we could be on her like a tick if she ever comes back. She said she talks with one of those voice boxes so we'll be able to spot her a mile away. Grumble grumble. I don't think I could be more annoyed with people's feeling of entitlement. I probably would have called the cops and at least asked them what I could do about it, if I was there. Or I would have been more confontational out of anger.
In any event, Christmas is almost here, and I'm ready for it.
