Law & Order
I watched the Law and Order season premere last night. The premise was this guy kidnaps a little girl with the intention of selling her to his pedophile friend, but he gets caught first. They don't find the kid when they catch him and he tries to buy his freedom by offering up the little girl if he doesn't have to go to jail. So they are back and forth the whole episode and the DA decides to make the deal to save the girl. So at the end, they are in the courtroom and they make the deal, he gives her up, but the judge says its her decision what happens to him, not the DA and she throws the book at him big time. So they haul him out of the courtroom screaming, leaving the lawyers and the judge all looking at each other very seriously. Pretty much every single episode like this, I'm dying for it to end with them all shrugging their shoulders. Then one of them goes, "Ah, fuck him. Who wants to get some burgers?" Everyone is thinking that he deserved what he got. Oh, boo hoo, his rights were violated, isn't this the same guy that kidnapped a kid to sell to a pedophile? I think everyone would like the show more if they stopped caring about the bad guy so much. Maybe its just me.
