The Consultation

What is up with consultations? Could I hate them more? I guess my family has been going to the same doctors for too long and now that they are retiring or whatever, we are going to some new ones, and we are in this consultation hell. Today, I called a dermatologist in Washington to get a mole removed. I've gotten it done at various places before, I'm not picky about where I go, its so fucking easy I could practically do it myself. This place wanted to do a consultation. I'm like, "Why do you need to do a consultation?" Phone chick is all, "We need to explain the procedure, blah, blah, blah..." I'm all, "I've had it done a bunch of times before, I know all about the procedure." She's like, "Well, we need to see what kind of mole it is and see if we need to allow more time, blah, blah, blah..." Then I'm all, "I hate those FUCKING consultations!" or maybe I said, "Tuesday the 30th is fine..." If you haven't had a mole removed, this is what they do: they numb the mole, then they cut it off, it takes ten seconds. I know that this is one of those easy moles because it sits above the skin. I'm going to be so pissed when they don't cut it off that day.
My mom was here when I made the appointment. She hates consultations more than myself. Our dentist retired, sending my family out into the wild blue beyond looking for a new dentist. He recommended one guy before he retired, so my mom decided to go to him. They called her wanting her to come in at 6 months instead of a year, AND they wanted to do a consultation. Mom was like, "I don't think so, you are doing it all on one day." Chick on the phone didn't have an opening big enough in the near future and mom wasn't willing to give up golf on Mondays which is the only day they wanted to schedule her. So she made her make an appointment six months ahead of time, which meant mom got the better of her because now she was at the year mark and she didn't have to do a consultation. Mom is very proud of herself, but still mad that they wanted to do a consultation so she said she still might cancel it on principles of some kind. Elliott went to a different dentist that Nicole made him go to. Elliott and I have the exact same dental history, wisdom teeth taken out, wore braces, never a cavity. So our teeth are straight and no wisdom teeth messing things up and no cavities to talk about. Elliott said his consultation was useless. The dude was just telling him how great his teeth were. USELESS!!
Like he is supposed to miss work and I'm supposed to get a babysitter for such fine reparte such as, "Yup, that's got to come off." or "Your teeth are super de-duper."
