My review of the movie Mystic River
This is another Clint Eastwood gem. Here's the premise: three boys are friends. While playing together, one gets kidnapped and molested for several weeks until they finally find him. Surprisingly, kid is never quite the same again. I know, you're thinking, "Could this movie get any better?" So the kids grow up. One becomes a cop, and one a mob type guy, I know you're thinking, "That is so original, what a TWIST, one is a 'good guy' and one is a 'bad guy', NEVER saw it coming." The messed up kid gets married and continues to be a little messed up. So mob guy's daughter ends up getting murdered on the same night that messed up guy comes home covered with blood. Hmm, suspicious? So the rest of the movie, Clint Eastwood spends trying to convince you, cop guy, and mob guy that messed up guy killed the girl. So in the end, mob guy forces messed up guy to confess and then kills him. Only for everyone to then figure out that messed up guy killed a child molester that night and didn't have anything to do with the daughter. Wow, what a goofy cooincedence! What a crazy TWIST!? NO! No, it wasn't a crazy twist! It sucked, it was horrible! This movie was almost as bad as Bloodwork only without the bad acting! If this was based on a true story then it might have been crazy that all this happened. But it isn't a true story, Clint Eastwood was trying to be cool and link all these guys together but it was cheezy and predictable and boring and a downer all at the same time. A cop and a mob guy being friends? Give me a fucking break. Then at the end, cop guy knows that mob guy killed the other guy, and mob guy knew that cop guy knew he killed him and they are looking at each other across the street or something and mob guy just shrugged and cop guy gave him a look like, "Yeah, who the fuck cares. He was messed up anyways." THE END. This movie could have sucked more only if there was bad acting, or if there was a Clint Eastwood sex scene. Happily, Clint Eastwood was not in the movie at all. Other than that, it sucked so much I was mad about wasting my time when it was over.
