Baby Gabe

Baby Gabe officially took his first steps today. He's kinda been doing it the past week scooting one foot a little. But today he just decided he was going to walk so he let go and step, step, step. He was between the couch and a slide so he grabbed one if he needed it and then kept going on his own. Isabella had a different technique when she started walking where she would walk from the couch to the crib then back to the couch again. She walked much later and we were in a different house with a different layout. She also didn't have an older sibling to inspire her.
Isabella goes down her slide a million times a day. Gabe seems jealous, he doens't like to miss much. Last night he was using his sticky webbed toes and started climbing the slide. He probably got a good six inches up. He tried a couple more times but didn't get anywhere. I think we'll call him Spiderman. Although, I don't think Spiderman had webbed toes. Regarding the slide, Isabella used to not go down it unless she was holding my fingers. After a particularly rough playdate with Cole Ray, I wasn't there, Mom was babysitting my kids and my leach of a brother dropped his kids off too, two kids, four kids, same difference right? Apparently watching Cole go down by himself, and him pushing Isabella down the slide in impatience, she got over her fear. If Spiderman ever figures out how to get to the top of the slide, he'll have no problem going back down, whether he likes it or not, thanks to his sister and cousin.
